1.
Use recommended size tractors (See Specifications section).
2.
Be sure tractor and machine have been properly prepared. (See Preparing Tractor and Preparing Machine sections.)
3.
For best results, operate at 8-11 km/h (5-7 mph) for optimum breakup of trash coverage. In rocky conditions, reduce speed.
4.
Standards are designed for maximum operating depth of 127 mm (5 in.). If soil conditions make it difficult to obtain desired depth, make two passes at an angle to each other and maintain recommended operating speed.
5.
Be sure machine is on level ground before raising or lowering wings.
6.
Never raise or lower wings while machine is in motion.
7.
Never operate in field with wings raised.
IMPORTANT:
These machines tend to "nose dive" when operating. Adjust hitch turnbuckle so machine operates level from front-to-back.
FLEX-FOLD MACHINES-Adjust cylinder eyebolts to level wings side-to-side.
|
RIGID-FOLD MACHINES-Adjust wing-fold cylinder rods and stabilizer wheels to level wings side-to-side.
8.
Be sure machine is level side-to-side and front-to-rear.
9.
Set SCV levers for proper operation of Single Point or TOUCHSET Depth Control System.
10.
Periodically, at row ends, hold depth control lever (or switch) in raised position for five seconds after cylinders are fully extended to synchronize cylinders. (See UNDERSTANDING DEPTH CONTROL SYSTEM in this section.)
11.
Raise machine out of ground before making turns. Avoid making sharp turns that may cause tractor tire to contact machine.
12.
Disk depth can be adjusted up or down as necessary for conditions. Operate disks no deeper than necessary to level surface irregularity and slice residue.
13.
If chemicals are used, always follow manufacturer's instructions for proper use and handling. (See HANDLE CHEMICAL PRODUCTS SAFELY in Safety section.)
