Checking C-Shank Assembly Tightness
IMPORTANT:
Sweep damage to tires may occur when using larger sweeps. Move standard or cut off part of sweep to prevent interference with a tire.
U-bolts must be tightened EVENLY, so standard is "square" on frame.
Loose hardware and/or broken brackets can result if all four contact points (A) are not touching frame when tightened.
1.
Partially tighten U-bolt (B) top nut.
2.
Tighten bottom U-bolt nut to specification.

3.
Tighten top U-bolt nut to specification.
IMPORTANT:
Check for correct tightness after 10 hours of use. Tighten to correct torque, if necessary.
NOTE:
For deeper sweep penetration in wheel tracks, install sweep extender (C-shank only). (See INSTALLING SWEEP EXTENDER in this section.)
4.
Check pivot bolt (C) for tightness, according to specification.
