Checking Standard Bushings

NOTE: Before checking wear on bushings, spring must be compressed until tension is off pivot bolt. Use special spring compression tool provided with machine. (See next section REPLACING SPLIT- TENSION BUSHINGS on how to use tool.)

When side-to-side movement of shank measures 38-51 mm (1-1/2-2 in.) at sweep (A), replace worn chrome and/or split-tension bushings (B). (See REPLACING SPLIT-TENSION BUSHINGS, in this section.)

NOTE: A new shank assembly could have 0-19 mm (0-3/4 in.) side-to-side movement.
