Servicing Disk Gangs

causym CAUTION: Disk gangs are heavy and sharp and can fall or roll causing serious injury or death to you or others. When removing disk gangs, use suitable lifting devices or support stands to prevent injury or damage. Block disk gang to keep it from rolling. Wear gloves and use other safety equipment to avoid injury.

NOTE: Bearing standards are attached to gang frames at factory. They are positioned on frame for best disk operation.

To maintain factory-set position, do not loosen or remove disk standard nearest to center of disk on either main gangs or wing gangs.

1. Remove nuts and cap screw fastening disk gang bearings to disk standards.

2. Raise disk slightly to roll disk gang away from disk.

3. Block gang to prevent rolling. Support disk frame.

4. Use gang wrenches to loosen gang nuts. (See GANG ASSEMBLY in this section.)
