Setting Fan Speed Alarm Set Point

NOTE: Since the normal operating fan speed is 3700 rpm when the engine is at 2200 rpm, it is recommended that the alarm be set to go off when the fan speed drops below 3500 rpm (set point).

1. Start picker with park brake engaged.

Specification

Fan -Normal Fan Speed (Engine at 2200 rpm) 3700 rpm
Alarm Set Speed (Recommended) 3500 rpm

2. Engage fan.

3. Push fan speed switch (A) on tachometer display.

4. Advance engine throttle until fan speed registers set point rpm.

5. Push fan speed switch (A) on tachometer and hold until "350A" appears in display as illustrated.

6. If the fan speed drops below alarm set point, the fan speed indicator (A) and "Caution" (B) lights will come on and a 3-second alarm will sound.

Low fan speed can be caused by a loose belt or low engine rpm. The alarm horn and indicator light will delay for two seconds after fan engagement to allow engine speed to be increased.
