Setting Automatic Height Control
1.
Position the entire picker on the cotton rows. Drive and guide wheels must be in the field, on the rows, and at the same level.
2.
With engine operating at mid throttle and hydraulic system warmed up, lower units using switch on the hydro lever.
CAUTION:
If you or others become entangled in a unit, serious injury or death can result. Be sure units are disengaged. Keep away from areas which might pinch or crush as units move up and down.
3.
Lift unit height sensing shoes (A) until units are fully raised, then release shoes. Set height sensing so units are positioned no lower than necessary to pick cotton.
4.
To adjust: Loosen cap screw (D) adjust collar (E) to make the unit operate higher or lower. Retighten cap screw and nut.
IMPORTANT:
Adjust collar on each unit to the same level. Failure to equally adjust collars can result in damage to units or machine.
5.
Recheck unit tilt adjustment.
6.
For low hanging bolls or lodged and tangled limbs, position plant guides (B) or wear plate (C) on unit bottom so they just touch the top of the beds (just skim the surface, not plow).
7.
Check automatic height control. If it performs as described, the height sensing system is properly adjusted; DO NOT perform further adjustments.
