Checking Moistener Column Position

Position of moistener column should be set so that the first fin of the moistener pad (A) just touches the front edge of the spindle dust collar (B) as the spindle exits the moistener pad. Top and bottom moistener pads should be set the same.

IMPORTANT: Moistener pads have been factory installed with fins perpendicular to spindle as shown. Excessive wear to spindle and spindle bushings can result if moistener pads are installed with fins parallel to spindle.

NOTE: Edge of moistener pad should not move more than one-half way up dust collar at point of farthest penetration of spindle.
