Deglazing Brake Linings

When a loss of brake power is noticed, or when the park brake will not hold, deglaze the brake linings as follows:

2. Drive forward at fast throttle position and at full hydro lever travel.

3. Apply brakes firmly for 60-75 m (200-250 ft). Engine speed should drop about 200 rpm.

4. Bring machine to a stop, shut off engine and allow brakes to cool for 15 minutes.

5. After the brakes have cooled, start engine and drive machine slowly FORWARD in first gear. Repeatedly apply the brakes to actuate the automatic adjusters.

From a stop, the service brakes should hold the machine in first gear; the park brake should hold the machine in second gear.
