6.
Pull out hand primer (A) on fuel supply pump.
7.
Operate the hand primer until slight back-pressure is felt and a smooth flow of fuel, free of bubbles, comes out of the filter plug hole.
8.
Simultaneously stroke the hand primer down and close the port plug. This prevents air from entering the system. Tighten plug securely. DO NOT overtighten.
9.
Start engine.
IMPORTANT:
To prevent damage to injector or engine, DO NOT attempt to remove and disassemble injectors yourself. Special training and tools are required. See your John Deere dealer.
10.
If engine will not start or misses after bleeding filters, loosen high pressure fuel pipe on three or more injectors.
11.
Remove 3-amp fuse from fuel shut-off position in cab mounted fuse block. Turn engine with starter until fuel flows without foam from loose connections.
12.
Tighten connections using two wrenches.
13.
Bleed remaining injectors similarly.
14.
Return fuel shutoff fuse to original position.
