causym CAUTION: Gas given off by batteries is explosive. Keep sparks and flames away from battery. Make last connection and first disconnection at a point away from battery.

IMPORTANT: Always connect starter cable to positive (+) terminal of battery and battery ground cable to negative (-) terminal of battery. Reversed polarity in battery or alternator can result in permanent damage to electrical system.

When jump starting, always remember the following:

  • Use batteries of same voltage.
  • Be sure both negative posts are grounded.
  • Check fluid for freezing.
  • Be sure machine is not touching another vehicle.
  • Ignitions should be off, accessories off, gears in "PARK" or "NEUTRAL", and brakes engaged.
  • Attach clamps in order indicated and remove in exact opposite order.

1. Connect positive (+) cable to positive post (A) of discharged battery and the other end of the same cable to positive post (+) (B) of booster battery.

2. Connect second cable (negative) (-) to negative post (C) of booster battery.

3. Connect the other end of the negative (-) cable to the engine block (D) of the stalled machine, away from the battery. Stand clear.

4. Start machine and remove cables in reverse order of connection.
