Raising Telescoping Basket

1. Remove spring pin (A). Retract and lock-out front left-hand basket pin.

2. Connect duct lift chains to lid linkage frame (A) by sliding bolt (B) into slot (C). (Washer MUST be on top surface of linkage frame.)

causym CAUTION: If basket should come in contact with overhead electrical wires, serious injury or death to you or others can occur. Be certain of adequate overhead clearance before raising basket extension.

3. Raise basket extension by pressing upper portion of basket extension switch (A). Stop raising extension slightly below desired pinned location (intermediate or full position).

4. Unfold duct ladder step (A).

5. Release duct support pins (A) both sides. Place left-hand basket lock-up pin in disengaged position.

6. Continue raising basket until duct support pins engage in desired (upper or lower) holes. Make sure pins engage into holes of duct support.

NOTE: If pins do not engage, adjust lock nuts (B) on chain bolts until duct support pins snap into the duct support holes.

7. Slightly lower basket extension to put slack in duct support chains.

IMPORTANT: Remove duct support chains or damage will occur duct supports and bracket when basket unloads.

8. Remove bolt (B) from slots (C) in lid linkage tube (A). Wrap chain (D) around duct support pipe (E).

9. Continue to raise lid until basket pin snaps into place.

10. Release front left-hand basket pin so it is spring loaded.

11. Retain pin with spring locking pin.

IMPORTANT: NEVER leave basket in telescoped position without pins engaged. Basket can come down if pins are not engaged.

12. On right-hand front and rear basket corners, remove quick-lock pins (A) (three locations). Push lower lock-up beam (B) over pin (three locations). Reinstall quick-lock pins.

13. Attach basket hydraulic hoses to conveyor channel using straps (A).

NOTE: If machine is equipped with a basket unload extender, perform the following steps. If machine does not have a basket unload extender, proceed to step 17.

14. (Machines with basket unload extender) Attach front unload extender link (A) using pin (B).

15. Install upper link (A) and retain with hook.

16. Reposition units as they were positioned previous to transport.

NOTE: If necessary to reposition upper duct(s), follow steps 17 through 20.

17. Loosen set screws in retaining rings (B).

18. Locate the upper duct (A) left or right so it is in the best position to deliver cotton to the basket and to avoid interference with support pipe.

NOTE: Locate remaining upper ducts in a similar manner if necessary.

19. Tighten retaining ring set screws to lock duct in position so it does not slide right or left.

20. If retaining rings were loosened before lowering the telescoping basket, tighten retaining rings.
