Replacing Moistener Column Pads

IMPORTANT: To enable proper access to the moistener column during servicing remove excessive cotton and leaf trash from the fins and the side of the moistener column, before attempting any servicing procedures.

1. Inspect moistener pads for excessive wear or damage. If excessive wear or damage is evident, replace. If reusing moistener pad, clean holes (A), before replacing.

2. Make a hooked tool (B) from heavy wire to aid in the removal of moistener pads.

IMPORTANT: Excessive spindle or bushing wear can result if pads are not installed properly. Install pads so fins are perpendicular to pad stem.

4. Start new pad on rear of pad holder. Pull remainder over front of holder. Pad fins (A) must be perpendicular to pad stem (B) or premature spindle and bushing wear may result.
