Checking Stabilizer Cylinder Function
Check stabilizer cylinder function as described below.
NOTE:
Before proceeding, verify tires are inflated to proper pressure and that right-hand drive wheel has proper ballast. See WHEEL AND TIRE section.
1.
Move picker to a firm, level surface.
2.
Place a 102 x 102 mm (4 x 4 in.) block in front of left-hand guide wheel.
3.
Raise basket approximately 102 mm (4 in.) (enough to actuate the valve linkage).
4.
Drive picker slowly on the block.
5.
Measure length of exposed stabilizer cylinder rod (A).
6.
Drive machine off the block and lower the basket fully.
7.
Repeat the measurement of the exposed stabilizer cylinder rod.
8.
If the cylinder rod retracts more than 6 mm (1/4 in.), the system is not functioning correctly. The problem may be incorrect valve and linkage adjustment and/or air in the stabilizer cylinder. Proceed to CHECKING STABILIZER VALVE AND LINKAGE.
9.
If the cylinder rod retraction is 6 mm (1/4 in.) or less, the system is functioning correctly.
