The pivot arm (B) should just touch the top of valve pin (A). If not, loosen jam nut (C) above ball joint. Thread rod in or out of ball joint until pivot arm just touches the valve pin. Tighten jam nut.
NOTE:
Minimum thread engagement in ball joint is 3 full turns. If there is less thread engagement than 3 full turns when the pivot arm just contacts the valve pin, move the valve downward to allow more thread engagement of the rod in the ball joint.
Maximum thread engagement is approximately 16 full turns until the rod bottoms out in the ball joint. If the rod bottoms out in the ball joint and the pivot arm still does not contact the valve pin, move the valve upward to allow the pivot arm to contact the valve pin without reaching the end of the threads.
6.
Loosen jam nut (D) located above compression spring (E). Tighten nut (F) above spring to compress spring to solid height, then back nut off five full revolutions. Tighten in place with jam nut (D).
