Winterizing Cooling System

IMPORTANT: Damage to cooling system can result. DO NOT drain cooling system to protect against freezing. Operator's station heater does not drain completely.

IMPORTANT: Stop-leak additives can plug radiator, causing overheating and engine damage. Do not use coolants that contain a stop-leak additive.

1. Be sure cooling system has sufficient coolant prior to cold weather. Add only specified coolant. See DIESEL ENGINE COOLANT and all associated information in LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE section for coolant recommendations and information.

2. After adding coolant, turn heater switch (A) on and operate engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. This mixes solution uniformly and circulates it through entire system.
