Adjusting Toe-In-Heavy Duty Tie Rod

For the 4-row 914 mm (36 in.) and 5-row 914, 965, 1016 mm (36, 38, 40 in.) spacing follow the procedure below.

1. Loosen clamps (A) on right-hand and left-hand end of tie rod.

2. Rotate tube (B) to lengthen or shorten tie rod to adjust toe-in to 3 to 10 mm (1/8 to 3/8 in.).

3. Distance from center of inner tie rod end (A) to end of tie rod tube (B) should not exceed specification (C).

Specification

Center of Inner Tie Rod End-to-Tie Rod Tube End -Maximum Distance (C) 54 mm (2-1/8 in.)

Tighten clamp cap screws to specifications.

Specification

Clamp Cap Screw -Torque 47 N·m (35 lb-ft)

4. Recheck toe-in.
