Transporting

IMPORTANT: When transporting machines with seed and fertilizer in the boxes, settling and packing of material will occur and drive assembly may be damaged. Turn counter shaft backwards with a wrench after transporting, to insure fertilizer shaft is free.

1. Raise openers. If equipped with hydraulic lift, install lock pin in transport position (A).

2. If tractor has row-marker selector control, switch should be in "neutral" or "off" position.

3. If tractor has ROLL-GARD ™ safety canopy, keep your seat belt fastened when transporting.

4. Keep tractor (Slow Moving Vehicle) SMV emblem in place and clean. If tractor SMV is missing or obscured, obtain an SMV from your John Deere dealer and install on rear of machine.

5. Attach warning light plug to tractor seven-terminal electrical outlet and make certain lights are working properly.

6. Make sure safety reflectors-amber on front, red on rear-are clean and in place.

7. Never transport machine faster than 32 km/h (20 mph).

causym CAUTION: A safety chain will help control drawn equipment should it accidentally separate from the drawbar while transporting. A runaway machine could cause injury or death to you or others. Using the appropriate adapter parts, attach the chain to the tractor drawbar support or other specified anchor location. Provide only enough slack in the chain to permit turning.

8. Attach the safety chain from machine hitch (A) to tractor drawbar support (B).
