Adjusting Down-Pressure for Gang Press Attachment
IMPORTANT:
Excessive spring force on press wheels can cause a reduction in weight that is carried on machine drive wheels. This can cause low seeding rates, due to increased wheel slippage, when grain box is nearly empty.
Adjust down-pressure in one of the following ways:
-
Reset stop (A) on hydraulic cylinder. This will change the operating depth and down pressure of furrow openers. See ADJUSTING INDIVIDUAL OPENER DOWN-PRESSURE in this section.
-
Remove chain link (B) to DECREASE PRESSURE.
IMPORTANT:
Lift height must be readjusted when locking pins are moved from one position to the other. See ADJUSTING TRANSPORT LIFT HEIGHT FOR GANG PRESS ATTACHMENT.
2.
Remove pivot assembly nut (C) and slide spring link (D) back to deactivate lower spring force.
