Checking and Adjusting Hydraulic Pump Drive Belt Tension

Check Belt Tension, Adjust As necessary Annually

 

1. Open hydro module door (A) and open door (B) to access hydraulic drive belt.

2. Loosen cap screws (A). Move gauge (B) to belt check position and align top of gauge slot (C) with top of belt. Tighten cap screws to hold gauge in position.

3. Verify belt deflection measures to specifications, using SERVICEGARD ™ belt tension gauge (D) (JDG950) or equivalent. Tension is correct when belt is deflected to specification and even with the bottom of gauge slot.

4. Loosen cap screws (A).

5. Loosen jam nut (B). Turn adjusting nut (C) as necessary to achieve proper belt tension.

6. Tighten jam nut.

7. Tighten cap screws.

8. After belt tension has been checked and adjusted (if necessary), return belt gauge back to storage position and tighten cap screws.
