Changing Turnbuckle Connection-Folding Machines Only

Machine is initially set in front hole for most disking conditions.

NOTE: If you run out of spring adjustment while trying to eliminate a center valley (clockwise rotation of crank), locate turnbuckle in rear position (A).

1. Lower machine to a level surface and fully raise wheels. Turn leveling crank clockwise or use hydraulic leveling control to remove all rear leveling spring compression.

2. Remove and retain 1/2 x 1-1/2 in. cap screws (B) and nuts from rear spring retainer (C) then slide rear spring retainer and rear spring (D) off clevis.

3. Turn leveling crank counterclockwise or use hydraulic motor to remove all front leveling spring compression.

causym CAUTION: To prevent injury to you or others, do not remove pin until rear leveling spring is removed and front leveling spring compression is COMPLETELY removed.

4. Remove and retain pin, latch over pin and two washers from front position (E).

5. Attach turnbuckle (F) to rear position (A) with pins and washers previously removed.

6. Reinstall rear leveling spring and retainer using hardware previously removed.

7. Re-level machine after changing turnbuckle.

8. Be certain pivot link is resting against pivot link stop. If pivot link is not against stop, turn leveling crank clockwise. Raise machine to check if pivot link is against stop.

causym CAUTION: Overextending turnbuckle will cause turnbuckle to come apart, allowing sudden movement that can result in serious injury or death to you or others. Never expose more than 55 mm (2-1/4 in.) of turnbuckle eyebolt thread (A). When frame is level, tighten jam nut (B) against turnbuckle.

9. Raise machine and check to see if machine is level front-to-rear. If machine is not level when raised, adjust turnbuckle as necessary.

10. Lower machine to ground. For field operation, use crank or hydraulic motor to adjust desired center profile. (See FIELD OPERATING GUIDELINES in this section.)
