Tractor Horsepower Requirements
Tractor PTO horsepower requirements are shown in following charts.
To use charts:
See chart for each specific model of machine.
Find working width of machine on chart.
Determine soil conditions machine will be used in. If more than one soil condition is anticipated, always use horsepower suggested for soil type that requires more horsepower. (Recommended operating speed of 6.4-9.7 km/h (4-6 mph).
Light Draft-Heavy soils, dry/hard conditions, level terrain
Medium Draft-Average conditions
Heavy Draft-Light or sandy soil conditions, medium moisture, rolling terrain
NOTE:
For all sizes add 1.1 kw (1.5 HP) per 0.1 m (foot) (size) for rear harrow attachments.
