Above illustration shows relationship between gang components.
IMPORTANT:
Before disassembling a gang, record diameter and location of blades and location of bearings for correct gang assembly.
Hardware (H) on end of gang bolt should be maintained in order it was taken off.
1.
Using gang wrenches and long pipe, remove gang bolt nuts.

2.
Carefully remove blades (G), spools (B) and bearing assemblies.
3.
Inspect following parts for wear or damage:
-
Bent gang bolt (A).
-
Worn, damaged spools (B).
-
Mushroomed spools (B).
-
Worn, broken, distorted or loose flanges (C).
-
Torn or grease saturated gaskets (D).
-
Loose bearing seals, worn bearings (E).
-
Bent sleeves (F).
-
Worn or broken blades (G).
