Checking C-shank Assembly
IMPORTANT:
Avoid damage to frame and standards. V-bolt nuts MUST be tightened evenly so standards are 90° (square) to frame.
Contact MUST be made at least on three of four contact points (A) and a gap less than 0.50 mm (0.020 in.) on fourth if it does not contact. Loose hardware and/or broken brackets can result if more than one of the four contact points (A) on standards are not touching frame when nuts are tightened.
1.
Verify standard is 90° (square) to frame and contacts frame as specified. Make sure V-bolt is square with frame.
IMPORTANT:
Check V-bolt nuts for correct tightness after 10 hours of use. Tighten to correct torque, if necessary.
2.
Partially tighten top V-bolt nut. Then, tighten bottom nut and top nut to specification.
