Problem |
Solution |
Wing-fold does not function properly.
All Machines
-Machine sags when in folded position, after sitting idle for period of time.
Adjust tractor metering valves. (See PREPARING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM in Preparing Tractor section.)
All Machines
-Wings fold too fast.
Install restrictor orifice in cylinder port or adjust tractor metering valves. (See PREPARING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM in Preparing Tractor section.)
Slow folding is normal unless folding is extremely slow, cylinder rods are bent or it may be due to competitive harrow or packer on rear of machine.
See John Deere dealer.
All Machines
-Cylinder leakage.
Repair or replace cylinder. See John Deere dealer.
All Machines
-Insufficient tractor hydraulic pressure.
Check tractor hydraulic pressure. Use correct size cylinders for tractor pressure.
Machine does not run level, or does not tow straight when operating.
Incorrect tire pressure.
Inflate tires evenly. (See CHECKING TIRE PRESSURE in Preparing Machine section.)
Depth control cylinders leaking.
Check cylinders. (See SERVICE section.) See John Deere dealer.
Standards not spaced correctly.
Relocate standards. See John Deere dealer.
Wing-fold linkage restricting wing movement on flexible machine.
Extend cylinder(s) fully. Adjust linkage to allow wings to flex during operation. (See ADJUSTING WING-FOLD OPERATION in Operating Machine section.)
Not level side-to-side.
Level machine. (See Operating Machine section.)
Too much overlap with previously worked ground.
Reduce overlap.
