Attach Safety Chain To Tractor

causym CAUTION: A safety chain will help control drawn equipment (A) should it accidentally separate from drawbar (B) while transporting. A runaway machine can cause serious injury or death to you or others. Using appropriate adapter parts, attach chain to tractor drawbar support. Provide only enough slack in chain to permit turning. See your John Deere dealer for a chain with a strength rating equal to or greater than gross weight of towed machine.

Safety link (C) MUST BE TURNED UP as shown and POINT AWAY 90° from drawn equipment and hitch components.

DO NOT attach chain to intermediate support (D). Chain MUST only loop through intermediate support.

Prior to operating implement, insure all electrical harnesses, hydraulic hoses and safety chain are routed properly to avoid damage.

When storing machine, keep safety chain up off ground and hook to machine support assembly on hitch.

Always replace a safety chain if one or more links or end fittings are broken, stretched or otherwise damaged.
