Checking Battery Fluid Level
WARNING:
Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds, chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.
Wash hands after handling.
CAUTION:
Sulfuric acid in battery electrolyte is poisonous. It is strong enough to burn skin, eat holes in clothing and cause blindness if splashed into eyes. Wear rubber gloves and goggles when checking battery fluid level.
1.
Disconnect battery negative (-) terminals (A) and positive (+) terminals (B).
2.
Remove battery retaining brackets (C).
3.
Remove batteries.
NOTE:
Fluid level cannot be accurately checked with battery tilted.

Battery must be on a flat surface to accurately check fluid level. With the battery level, fluid should be visible at the top of each fill port covering plates in each cell.
5.
Pivot battery platform back into place and tighten cap screws.
