Engine Stop Lamp Indicator and Coolant Temperature Gauge

IMPORTANT: Prevent possible engine damage. Do not stop engine if indicator comes on and gauge needle enters red zone or coolant temperature will rise even higher, resulting in machine damage. Reduce load and run engine at slower speed to lower coolant temperature.

Engine stop lamp indicator will illuminate and a pulsed warning alarm will sound when engine coolant overheats. Reduce load immediately and run engine at slower speed. Inspect for debris around radiator. Check for low coolant level in recovery tank.

Observe engine coolant temperature gauge (A). Should coolant temperature continue to rise, immediately shut engine off without waiting for cool down. Inspect for plugged radiator or coolant leakage.

(To test indicator light bulb for proper operation, see CHECKING INDICATOR DISPLAY PANEL BULBS in this section.)
