Operating Compactor Augers

NOTE: When auto/manual compactor augers switch (A) is in "AUTO" position, compactor augers will engage by pressing floor switch (B) or will automatically engage for a default time of 20 seconds when cotton reaches sensor level in the basket. Duration of automatic engagement can be adjusted in the diagnostic mode of the tachometer. (See ADJUST OPERATE TIME OF AUTOMATIC BASKET COMPACTOR AUGERS-ADDRESS 32 in this section.)

When switch is in "MANUAL" position, augers must be engaged using floor switch. When in manual mode, activate augers OCCASIONALLY when cotton nears top of front screen and when cotton builds up on auger flighting. Activate augers CONTINUOUSLY when cotton fully covers front basket screen and compactor augers.

2. Adjust ground speed to control green boll and lint loss. Do first picking in first gear. Second gear should only be used for second picking.

3. Reduce ground speed at row ends. Completely raise the units and use individual brake pedals to aid in turning.

NOTE: Use good judgement when the basket is almost full. Unload early to prevent plugging of ducts.
