To Extinguish Fires In The Engine Compartment
1.
Remove dry type fire extinguisher (A) from bracket on left-rear corner of the machine.
2.
Push fire extinguisher hose through one of the six fire extinguisher portholes (B) and fog thoroughly.
3.
Repeat as necessary through remaining holes until fire is extinguished.
NOTE:
Side panels may be hot when handled. Use caution and wear gloves when removing side panels.

Remove side panels and verify the fire is completely extinguished and that there is no smoldering cotton that could re-ignite. Spray any smoldering cotton with water type fire extinguisher located on platform.
To Extinguish Fires In The Basket
1.
Quickly raise row units and drive the machine to a clean or harvested area in the field, away from cotton modules, dead grass or other equipment.
2.
Verify wind direction. Move machine as necessary so cotton will blow away from machine when unloading the basket.
3.
Completely unload all cotton from the basket and move machine a safe distance from unloaded cotton. Shut off engine, engage park brake switch.
4.
Warn others of the fire hazard and check machine again to verify the fire is completely out.
5.
Check cotton dumped in the field for fire or hot spots. Extinguish as necessary using water type fire extinguisher located on platform. Do not stamp out fire! Only use a fire extinguisher to put out any fire.
