Header Height Control Rate Response Adjustment

IMPORTANT: Decreasing the rate of response of the header height control system should be done with caution. Machine damage can occur from rough terrain if the rate of response of the units is to slow.

IMPORTANT: Damage can occur to the row units if rough terrain is encountered.

  • B Flat Terrain, Lake Bed Conditions, Slow Header Movement
  • C Moderate Terrain, Moderate Header Movement System will react to moderately rough terrain.

IMPORTANT: Excessive rough terrain may cause the row units to oscillate. If this occurs adjust to a slower setting.

  • D Rough Terrain, Fast Header Movement System will move quickly to avoid rough terrain.

Rate response knob (A) allows the operator to control how fast the row units react (raise/lower) to changing ground conditions while in the height sensing mode of operation. Rotating knob clockwise will increase response rate of the header (fast response). Rotating the knob counterclockwise will decrease response rate of the header (slow response).

1. Use chart as a guide and set initial rate response.

NOTE: Initial Minimum response rate when system is activated may be adjusted in the tachometer. (See ADJUST MINIMUM RESPONSE RATE-ADDRESS 34 in this section.)

2. Operate machine and observe rate response. Adjust as necessary.
