On Board Air Foam Marker Operation
The foam marker system consists of a foam solution tank (A), a control unit (B), a switch in the multifunction control handle (C), the GREENSTAR display (D), two foam mixing heads (E), and two air shut-off valves (F), two collectors (G) or streamers (H) and interconnecting wire harnesses and hoses.
A filler cap is located at the top of the foam solution tank (A) for adding foam concentrate and water. Inlet and outlet ports are provided at the top and bottom of the tank respectively. Pressurized air flows through hose (I) to the solution tank inlet fitting and pressurizes the tank. Hose (J) is connected to the solution tank outlet fitting and carries pressurized foam solution to solenoid operated valves located in the control unit.
Vent valve (K) relieves pressure in the solution tank when filling the tank with water through fill port (L). Valve should be open when filling tank and closed when finished.
The control unit box contains right-hand and left-hand air shutoff valves, a high/low foam rate valve, an anti-siphon valve, an externally adjustable fluid flow control valve and interconnecting wiring and tubing.
Foam marker rate control is controlled through the SPRAYSTAR system. The operator has five choices, "OFF", "MANUAL-LOW", "MANUAL-HIGH", "AUTO-LOW", and "AUTO-HIGH". When "MANUAL-LOW" or "MANUAL-HIGH" is selected the operator controls which side of the marker system is producing and dropping foam. When "AUTO-LOW or "AUTO-HIGH" is selected the foam marker automatically switches from one side to the other when the solution master spray "ON/OFF" switch is turned on and off.
Switch (C) on multifunction control handle is used to select right-hand or left-hand foam markers. Foam marker system is off when both of switches are pushed.
The air tank provides pressurized air directly to the foam solution tank through hose (I) and to the foam heads (E) through hoses (M) and (N).
