Calibrating Radar Sensor (Optional)

NOTE: If radar unit is removed from machine install dust cap on wiring harness for environmental protection.

When radar unit is left on machine but not used, dust cap must be installed on wiring harness and dust cap (with seals installed in end) placed on radar unit wiring connector.

Radar sensor overrides wheel speed sensor when radar sensor is installed and vehicle speed is between 3 and 20 mph. Radar is not available below 2 mph and in fourth range.

Radar symbol will appear on line A of pages one and two of RUN when radar is operating if default RUN pages are used.

1. Unfold booms and fill the solution tank half full of water or solution.

2. Measure a 122 m (400 ft) course on flat terrain that is most typical of field conditions (loose, medium, hard-packed). Do not use end rows due to possible varying ground conditions that can affect calibration.

3. Mark both beginning and end of course with markers that are visible from cab.

4. Allow enough room at each end of course for sprayer to travel entire course without speeding up or slowing down.

5. Select speed of 10 mph. Maintain constant speed over entire course.

6. Press "SETUP" to display SETUP menu.

7. Press letter button next to "Sprayer Vehicle".

8. Press letter button next to "Vehicle Calibrate".

9. Press letter button next to "Calibrate Radar Sensor".

10. Verify that calibration value is within range of 30 to 40. If not within range, enter value within range.

11. Start driving somewhere before beginning of the course and reach speed at which spraying will most likely occur.

12. While maintaining that speed, press letter button "C" to turn wheel counter "ON" when the sprayer reaches the beginning of the course.

13. Keep constant speed over the course, and when sprayer reaches the end marker, press letter button "C" to turn counter "OFF".

14. Record calibration value that appears on line E.

15. Repeat steps 12-14 two more times and record calibration values.

16. Average the three calibration values.

17. Press letter button next to "Calibration Value". Enter calibration average.

18. Press letter button next to "Calibration Value" to save entered value.

19. To verify calibration value of Radar Sensor Setup Display, measure the course with the distance counter. (See Operating Distance Counter in this section.)

20. If the "Distance" is anything more or less than 120-123 m (395-405 ft), refine the previous radar calibration number as follows:

Radar Calibration Number X Recorded distance ÷ by 122 m (400 ft) = New Radar Calibration Number

21. Enter new radar calibration number.

22. Repeat steps 19 and 20 if necessary.

Calibration value range for radar: 30-40

NOTE: Radar symbol will appear on line A of pages one and two of RUN when radar is connected.
