Operate Foam Marker System

causym CAUTION: Contents under pressure. Vent pressure from tank prior to removing cap or servicing foam marker control unit. To vent tank, pull up on tank cap relief valve ring (A) or open tank vent valve (B).

IMPORTANT: Open tank vent valve prior to and during filling foam tank from bottom port. Open valve slowly to relieve tank pressure. Close valve after filling or foam marker will not operate.

1. Pull up on tank cap relief valve ring (A) or open tank vent valve (B) to relieve tank pressure.

2. Remove cap (C) and attach water hose to fill port.

3. Open fill valve (D).

4. Fill tank full of clean water.

5. Close fill valve. Disconnect hose from fill port, install cap and close vent valve.

6. Pull up on tank cap relief valve ring (A) and remove tank cap.

NOTE: Use John Deere foam concentrate for best results.

Shake foam concentrate well before adding to tank. Store concentrate in a warm place, where it will not be frozen.

7. Refer to container for ratio mix and add recommended amount of foam concentrate.

8. Install tank cap.

9. Press "SETUP" to display SETUP menu.

10. Press letter button next to "SprayStar".

11. Press letter button next to "Foam Marker" to toggle between selections:

  • "OFF"
  • "AUTO LOW"
  • "AUTO HIGH"
  • "MANUAL LOW"
  • "MANUAL HIGH"

12. Select "MANUAL LOW".

13. Rotate fluid flow control knob (A) on rearward side of control box clockwise to fully closed, then counterclockwise one-half turn to set "LO" foam rate position.

14. Start engine and adjust air pressure regulator (B) on the front side of foamer control box to no more than 103 kPa (1 bar) (15 psi).

15. Press foam marker control switch (C) to "LEFT" position.

NOTE: In approximately two minutes, foam should generate out of left-hand collector.

16. Press foam marker control switch (A) to "RIGHT" position.

17. While foam is being generated, Select "MANUAL HIGH" in SPRAYSTAR. Foam drop rate should increase approximately 20 percent and drops should become wetter, and slightly smaller.

18. If foamer system fails to operate as described, see Troubleshooting section in this manual.
