Checking Disk Blades-Aluminum Boot
The blades must turn freely. With inside scrapers disengaged, the blades should touch at (A). With blades rotating, point (A) should have a maximum gap of 3.2 mm (1/8 in.). Most new openers need two or three shims (B) on each disk bolt (C) while worn blades may require less. See REPLACE AND ADJUST DOUBLE-DISK BLADES ON ALUMINUM BOOTS in Service section.

CAUTION:
The blades are sharp. To avoid injury, DO NOT hold blades with bare hands. Use locking pliers to hold the blades when tightening and loosening.
