Preparing Moistener System

IMPORTANT: Using doffers to clean spindles can result in excessive wear and damage to doffers and spindles. Spindle cleaning is accomplished through the use of the moistener system and NOT by the use of the doffers.

Spindle (A) cleaning is achieved by the following:

1. Proper mixture of water and spindle cleaner or wetting agent.
2. Correct nozzle size for type of solution additive.
3. Adequate solution pressure.
4. Periodic use of moistener flush system.
5. Proper adjustment of moistener column (B).
