Remove radiator cap (A).

Open rotary screen cover and remove cap screws (B) and cover (C) for access to radiator drain plug.
NOTE:
Approximate capacity of cooling system is 64 L (17 U.S. gal).

Open radiator drain plug and engine drain plug (D) to drain cooling system.
5.
Close drain plugs and fill system with clean water.
6.
Run engine until it reaches operating temperature.
7.
Turn heater on and leave on until finished.
CAUTION:
Explosive release of fluids from pressurized cooling system can cause serious burns to you or others. ALWAYS loosen water pump drain valve and engine block drain plug slowly to relieve any excess pressure.
8.
Stop engine and drain water before rust or sediment settles.
9.
Close drain plugs and water pump drain valve and fill system with a solution of clean water and John Deere Cooling System Cleaner or equivalent. (Follow instructions provided with cleaner.)
10.
Drain cooling system again.
11.
Close drain plugs and water pump drain valve.
12.
Replace cover with previously removed cap screws.
13.
Fill system with proper coolant. (See Filling Cooling System in this section.)
