Remove and Install Batteries
CAUTION:
BATTERIES ARE NEGATIVE GROUNDED ONLY. Always remove grounded (-) battery clamp first and replace it last. Always connect battery ground strap to negative (-) posts of battery. Connect starter cable to positive (+) post of battery. Reversed polarity in battery or alternator connections results in permanent damage to electrical system.
IMPORTANT:
Batteries must have same terminal locations.
1.
Disconnect battery negative (-) terminals (A) and positive (+) terminals (B).
2.
Remove shield (D).
3.
Remove battery retaining bracket (C).
4.
Remove batteries from machine.
5.
Install in reverse order using following special instructions:

When connecting batteries:
a.
Turn off all switches and accessories. Clean battery posts and clamps.
b.
QUICKLY TAP ground clamp to negative post. Arcing must not occur. DO NOT make connection. Check to see if battery position is reversed.
c.
If arcing still occurs, check again that all switches and accessories are off. Then check for shorts or other electrical loads.
d.
Connect battery negative (-) terminals.

Tighten battery terminals to specification.
