Check Engine Coolant Level
CAUTION:
Explosive release of fluids from pressurized cooling system can cause serious burns.
If radiator cap must be removed, do not remove when engine is hot. Shut engine off and wait until cap is cool enough to touch with bare hands. Slowly loosen cap to first stop to relieve pressure before removing completely.
Never add coolant when engine is overheated. Wait for it to cool.
Under certain conditions coolant conditioner can cause serious injury or death to you or others. Never inhale or ingest conditioner and avoid contact with skin or eyes. When adding coolant conditioner observe all precautions listed on container.
Check coolant level frequently. Watch for any signs of leaks. Coolant level in surge tank should remain between maximum cold level (A) and minimum cold level (B).
Add coolant as needed. Coolant can normally be added to surge tank. If surge tank is empty, add coolant directly to radiator and surge tank. (See DIESEL ENGINE COOLANT in Fuels, Lubricants and Coolants section for proper coolant specifications.)
