Operate Safely

Before operating your machine in the field, make sure the machine is properly prepared by verifying the following:

  • Operator is familiar with all machine controls, their functions, and safe operations. (See Safety and Operator's Station sections.)
  • All maintenance has been performed. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section.)
  • Moistener system is working properly and solution tank is full. (See Moistener System section.)
  • Row units have been adjusted to the correct row width. (See Row Units section.)
  • All safety systems are operating properly. (See Safety and Operator Presence System sections.)
  • Fire extinguishers are located correctly on the machine, properly charged and the operator is properly trained on using them. (See FIRE EXTINGUISHERS (DOMESTIC MACHINES), FRONT FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATION (DOMESTIC MACHINES) and REAR FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATION (DOMESTIC MACHINES) in the Safety section.)
  • All precautions have been taken to prevent fires and the operator is properly trained on what to do in case of fire. (See FIRE PREVENTION and IN CASE OF FIRE in the Safety section.)
