High Engine Coolant Temperature
IMPORTANT:
Check engine coolant temperature gauge (B) if engine coolant temperature indicator light comes on. DO NOT operate an overheated engine or damage WILL result.
When engine coolant temperature rises above 105°C (220°F), the engine coolant temperature indicator (A) will illuminate and a pulsed audible alarm will sound. Light remains on until coolant temperature falls below 100°C (212°F). Watch engine coolant temperature gauge (B) closely. If needle on gauge rises into warning zone and/or coolant indicator light comes on, engine is overheating. Shift to lower gear or reduce load by reducing ground speed. Unless temperature drops quickly, STOP engine. Determine cause of overheating.
(See your John Deere dealer if no obvious cause of overheating is found such as a low coolant, plugged rotary screen, or plugged radiator.)
