Adjusting Stalklifters

IMPORTANT: Excessive stalklifter wear can occur. DO NOT set points lower than necessary while still gathering low hanging stalks and branches.

Stalklifter damage can occur. Chain MUST be positioned in bottom of slot to prevent chain from coming loose and causing stalklifter point to contact ground.

Before adjusting stalklifters, unit tilt and header height control system must be properly adjusted.

Initially, adjust stalklifter point (A) to specification above bottom of stalklifter extension (B). Adjust using chain (C).

Specification

Position stalklifters lower than bottom of extension ONLY if cotton is being left in the field because of low hanging bolls or lodged and tangled limbs. In this condition, set stalklifter points to skim the surface, but not plow the bed. In this setting, periodically check wear on metal wear plate located on stalklifter point.
