Adjusting Pressure Plate Clearance
CAUTION:
Moving spindles can cause death or injury if you or others become entangled. Stay clear and use caution around moving parts.
Repair worn or bent pressure plates and hinges before adjusting.
To check pressure plate clearance, rotate units SLOWLY using the tether. (See OPERATING INSPECTION BYPASS SYSTEM in Operator Presence System section.) If pressure plate moves as spindles pass by, adjust pressure plate outward until contact between spindle and pressure plate is eliminated as noted below:
NOTE:
DO NOT back pressure plates away from spindles farther than 6 mm (0.25 in.) or a white streak of cotton may be observed along left-hand side of row.
Adjust top and bottom of pressure plates (A) evenly to specification using nuts (B).
