Checking Battery Fluid Level

causym CAUTION: Sulfuric acid in battery electrolyte is poisonous. It is strong enough to burn skin, eat holes in clothing and cause blindness if splashed into eyes. Wear rubber gloves and goggles when checking battery fluid level.

1. Remove batteries. (See REMOVE AND INSTALL BATTERIES in this group.)

NOTE: Fluid level cannot be accurately checked with battery tilted.

2. Battery must be on a flat surface to accurately check fluid level. With the battery level, fluid should be visible at the top of each fill port covering plates in each cell.

3. Install batteries. (See REMOVE AND INSTALL BATTERIES in this group.)
