Removing and Replacing Air Cleaner Elements
IMPORTANT:
When servicing filters, shut OFF engine, set parking brake and remove key so dirt cannot be pulled into engine.
1.
Release air cleaner latches (A) and remove cover.
2.
Pull to remove primary element (B).
IMPORTANT:
Never wash, brush or knock elements. If blowing out the primary element, use dry compressed air (500 kPa (72.5 psi)). Clean the element from the inside out making sure the tip of the air gun does not come in contact with the filter paper.
Never clean the safety element. Replace if dirty.
Never run engine without both filters in place.
3.
Wipe inside of canister and cover with clean cloth.
4.
Remove secondary element (C) ONLY if it is to be replaced. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN SECONDARY ELEMENT.
5.
Install element(s) making sure elements are properly seated.
6.
Replace cover and secure with latches.
7.
Check all connections in the air intake system. Be certain they are tight.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use any exhaust flow cleaning unit to blow chaff off machine. Using such a unit can cause air filter failure, followed by engine failure.
