Bleed Anhydrous Ammonia System

Before unhooking nurse tank from applicator or transporting machine, high pressure anhydrous ammonia must be bled from the nurse tank hose. Operating applicator in field with nurse tank valve

closed and distribution system on removes the majority of high pressure anhydrous ammonia. After system is bled in this manner remaining shutoff valves MUST be closed and bleed valves opened.

1. Position tank and machine down wind from where you are standing.

2. Close tank withdrawal valve (A).

3. Lower machine into ground, turn ON master switch of controller (See manufacturer's operation manual), and make one field pass.

4. Turn OFF application system. (See manufacturer's operation manual.)

5. Position tank and machine down wind from where you are standing.

causym CAUTION: Liquid anhydrous ammonia may still be present in hose. Point bleed valve outlet away from body and towards ground as bleeder valve is opened to avoid contact with liquid anhydrous ammonia. Exposure to anhydrous ammonia can cause serious injury or death to you or others.

6. Bleed off anhydrous remaining ammonia in system by opening bleeder valves (A) in supply hose and emergency disconnect (C), and applicator. Wait until anhydrous ammonia vapor (B) has COMPLETELY dispersed.
