Servicing Closing Wheel Arm

1. Remove pivot arm.

a. Remove front and rear closing wheels (B).

b. Pivot rear of arm down.

c. Note location of washer (E).

d. Drive pin (C) out.

e. Remove pivot pin (D).

f. Inspect components for damage and replace as necessary.

IMPORTANT: Install washer (E) on same side of arm as noted when removed.

g. Assemble in reverse order with direction (G) arrow facing front.

2. Remove closing arm.

causym CAUTION: Disks are sharp. Use caution and wear protective clothing to avoid injury.

a. Remove disk (A) and gauge wheel (B).

b. Place tension lever (C) in top position (lowest pressure).

c. Remove cap screw (D), washers, nut, and springs.

d. Remove cap screw (E), washers, and nut.

e. Drive pin (F) out and remove lever assembly.

f. Remove spacer (G).

g. Inspect arm, spacer (G), seals (H), and bushings (I) for damage. Replace as necessary.

h. Assemble in reverse order and tighten cap screws to specification.

Closing Arm Cap Screw -Torque 237 N·m (175 lb-ft)
Disk Cap Screws -Torque 73 N·m (54 lb-ft)
Gauge Wheel Cap Screw -Torque 217 N·m (160 lb-ft)
Closing Wheel Lock Nut -Torque 217 N·m (160 lb-ft)
