Adjusting Opener Down-Pressure-Tractors With Open Center Hydraulic Systems
IMPORTANT:
Change valve (E) must be in closed position when operating. Lock-up valve (D) must always be open while running and closed during service.
IMPORTANT:
Drill MUST BE equipped with Open Center Hydraulic Kit with Change Valve (E), if used with a tractor with an open-center hydraulic system. See your John Deere dealer for installation.
1.
Refer to UNDERSTANDING ACTIVE HYDRAULIC OPENER DOWN-PRESSURE SYSTEM and determine initial pressure setting.
2.
Place tractor transmission in "park" and keep engine running.
3.
Lower openers by holding the SCV lever forward for a few seconds, then release. This pressurizes the opener down-pressure system.
4.
Check gauge to determine if pressure requires adjustment.
NOTE:
Gauge needle will not move as knob (A) is turned.
NOTE:
One full turn equals approximately 1724 kPa (17 bar) (250 psi). Once set, lock knob (A) in position with wheel (C).
a.
To decrease down-pressure setting, open change valve (E), turn knob (A) counterclockwise and close valve (E).
b.
To increase down-pressure, turn knob (A) clockwise.
5.
Pressurize down-pressure system by raising and lowering the openers, holding the SCV lever forward for a few seconds to pressurize the cylinders.
