Bleed Wing-Fold Hydraulic Systems-5-Section Machines

causym CAUTION: Wheel modules retract and extend during this wing-fold procedure and can cause serious injury to you or others. Stay away from all moving and pivoting parts during procedure.

IMPORTANT: Follow bleed procedure EXACTLY as shown. Hydraulic reservoir MUST be filled prior to bleeding and kept FULL throughout entire bleed procedure.

If performing bleed procedure on machines running different than 1800 rpm, bleed rate times MUST be adjusted to a 113 Lpm (30 gpm) per minute rate. Example: If tractor is running at 57 Lpm (15 gpm), then double all bleed times.

NOTE: If proper responses are not observed during bleed procedure. Refer to Troubleshooting section in Operator's Manual.

causym CAUTION: Insure cylinders are supported firmly with wood block before bleeding cylinders. Wire could also be used to retain wheel module cylinders. Failure to do this may result in cylinder falling and causing serious injury to you or others.

1. Remove pins from rod end. Make sure cylinders are properly supported.

2. Turn tractor key ON, DO NOT start engine.

NOTE: Wing-fold circuit will not operate without 12 volts from 7-plug.

3. At tractor go to 7-pin plug (A) and hook to ground (B), then test 7-plug (C) and verify 12-volts is at plug.

4. Plug 7-pin warning light harness is plugged into tractor.

5. Verify tractor is full of hydraulic oil.

6. Run tractor to 1800 rpm.

causym CAUTION: Support main frame or rest machine on shanks before performing bleed procedure. Unexpected movement of machine during bleed procedure could cause serious injury or death to you or others.

7. Pull switch lever (A) on wing-fold valve, counterclockwise using wire (B) until an ACTIVATE CLICK is heard. Retain lever with wire.

NOTE: Outer left and right-hand side wing cylinders will extend completely including all fold cylinders.

a. Fully extend and retract all cylinders at least two times, maintaining hydraulic pressure at full extension for at least 30 seconds.

b. Extend cylinders one more time, maintaining pressure at full extension for one minute.

8. Fully extend and retract all cylinders at least two times, maintaining hydraulic pressure at full extension for at least 30 seconds.

9. Extend cylinders one more time, maintaining pressure at full extension for one minute.

10. Attach rod end (A) of cylinder between swing plates (B) using 1-1/4 x 7.18 in. drilled pin (C), 0.149 x 1-5/16 x 2-1/2 in. washers (D) against outside of swing plates and 21/64 x 1-3/4 in. spring pins. Repeat process on other cylinders.

IMPORTANT: If an oil leak is found during bleed procedure, stop oil leak then restart procedure.

11. Extend cylinders and keep in continuous flow for 2 minutes.

12. CONDUCT STATIC LEAK TEST-

a. Lower machine so sweeps or harrow tines are 50 mm (2 in.) off ground.

b. Disconnect all hydraulic hoses from tractor.

c. Measure cylinder rod lengths, then wait one hour and recheck measurements.

  • If cylinder rod measurements are LESS than 6.3 mm (1/4 in.)-Machine OK.
  • If cylinder rod measurements are MORE than 6.3 mm (1/4 in.)-Repeat complete bleed procedure.
