Preparing Hydraulic System-John Deere 8000/9000, 8020/9020, and 8030/9030 Series Tractors

IMPORTANT: 5-SECTION MACHINES ONLY- In order for wings to be folded and unfolded, a 7-pin connector including a safety valve circuit MUST BE CONNECTED TO TRACTOR. If 7-pin safety valve connector is not connected, wings will not fold or unfold.

5-SECTION MACHINES ONLY- In order for wings to be folded and unfolded, set SCV II selector button flow control knob to fast (rabbit) position and verify tractor is running at 1800 rpm.

5-SECTION MACHINES WITH ROLLING BASKETS- Wings should NOT fold or unfold with rolling baskets raised. Folding or unfolding wings with rolling baskets raised will cause machine damage.

2. WING FOLD/UNFOLD-Press SCV II selector button (A) and turn flow control knob (B) to fast (rabbit) position.

IMPORTANT: Maintain SCV II power during folding and unfolding to fully extend or retract wing wheels. NEVER allow wings to float down with gravity.

3. Turn time detent knob (C) until display reads "19" seconds. If this is not enough time to completely fold/unfold wings, time detent button can be set to continuous . If set to continuous , tractor hydraulic pump will continue to operate after fold/unfold cylinders have stopped moving. This is normal and not harmful. However, shutting off pump by moving SCV lever to any position after lever has returned to NEUTRAL is recommended.

CAUTION: DO NOT operate SCV I in CONTINUOUS. Operating SCV I in CONTINUOUS may cause machine to unfold unexpectedly during transport causing serious injury or death to you or others.

4. DEPTH CONTROL-Press SCV I selector button (A) and turn flow control knob (B) to rabbit position.

5. Turn time detent knob (C) until display reads "5" seconds. This can be increased or decreased

6. HYDRAULIC GANG CONTROL-Press SCV III selector button (D) and turn flow control knob (B) to rabbit position.

7. Turn time detent knob (C) until display reads from "5" seconds. This can be increased or decreased depending on actual time required to raise and lower gangs.
