Checking Disk Gang Operation

causym CAUTION: To help prevent severe injury or death to you or others:

Make sure air has been properly bled from disk gang hydraulic system.

Keep all persons away from machine when raising and lowering disks.

1. Place tractor transmission in PARK and/or set brakes, then start engine and pull back on SCV I to raise machine off ground.

2. Pull back on SCV III (A) to retract disk gang cylinders.

3. Move SCV III back and forth several times while observing operation of machine. Disks should raise when SCV III is pulled back and lower when pushed forward. If action is reversed, reverse hose connections.

If disks do not operate smoothly, air may be trapped in cylinders or hoses. (See INSTALLING AND BLEEDING CYLINDERS in Service section.) If after bleeding, machine still does not operate properly, see John Deere dealer.

4. After attaching and cycling cylinders, check tractor hydraulic oil reservoir. Add oil if necessary.
